The Korean Memorial Pylon is a towering monument honoring the 112 Filipino officers and men who were members of the Philippine Expeditionary Forces to Korea (PEFTOK) who perished during the Korean war.

M I S S I O N:
To provide graves services to deceased active/ retired AFP and authorized non military personnel, and to maintain LNMB to include other military grave sites.
May 1947 - Establishment of the Republic Memorial Cemetery.
27 Oct 1954 - Presidential Proclamation No86 renamed the Republic Memorial Cemetery to LNMB by Pres Ramon Magsaysay.
28 May 1967 - Pres Proclamation No208 declared the LNMB and reserved the same for National Shrine purposes under the administration of the National Shrines Commission.
19 Jul 1975 - QM Graves Registration Company was organized as an AFP-Wide Service Support Unit.
26 Jan 1977 - PD No1076 (Pres Marcos) abolished the National Shrines Commission and Military Shrines Service was activated taking over the functions of the NSC pertaining to military memorials.
01 Oct 1990 - QMGRC was upgraded to QM Graves Registration Unit.
23 Feb 1998 - QMRGU was deactivated and GSU was activated as a major subordinate unit of ASCOM. Grave Service Unit - present administrator of the LNMB.
